History

This stunning and completely unique hand-crafted instrument offers playing dynamics, depth of sound and tonal variation that few guitars in the world have ever achieved, based loosely on guitarist Eli Jon Roth’s original Sky Guitar, the TPP Sky Guitar Custom was designed by the TPP Custom Shop Team in collaboration with guitarist Dennis Yau as a tribute to the original but incorporating his own style and the TPP Custom Shop’s ingenuity.
Visually the TPP Sky Guitar Custom was modelled on the very first ‘Sky Guitar’ design, featuring the same dynamic body shape and equipment style but this is essentially where the comparison ends, over months of pre-production and detailed discussion, the TPP Custom was meticulously taken apart and re-designed to incorporate a host of brand new features and state of the art technology to produce a truly unique instrument.
A majestic, sweeping body design, coupled with a stunning Custom Shop 31-fret, 7-string Canadian Rock Maple neck is just the beginning, through its fragile gestation, the TPP Sky Guitar Custom VII evolved into an instrument capable of no less than 17 individual sound selections incorporating both magnetic and acoustic piezo pickup systems, that in turn can be modelled by Stereo Output options, classic volume and tone controls plus a dynamic Vintage Tremolo Bridge to dive-bomb those languid tones with just a gentle touch of the whammy bar!
