History

Peter Green has been considered by many as the greatest guitar player that has ever lived, a British blues legend and founder of one of the biggest selling super-groups of all time - Fleetwood Mac.Green had spent several years in small British blues bands before he met drummer Mick Fleetwood while playing in "Peter B's Looners" and later that year (1966), Green was offered the unique opportunity to fill in for guitar legend Eric Clapton in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers - ironically enough, Clapton has been inspired by Green's playing ever since this enigmatic run with Mayall but shortly thereafter, Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood decided to form their own group and the first incarnation of the legendary Fleetwood Mac was born.
It was in this period that Green's stylish 1959 Gibson Les Paul really came into its own and has since become the guitar most associated with the 'Man of the World', a guitar made unique for a very special reason - a particular modification that was made to the neck pickup in late 1967, reversing its magnetic polarity internally and thusly creating the incredible tone that has given Green his place amongst some of the greatest guitar players in musical history...
