THE TPP JOHN MAYER "BLACK ONE" STRATOCASTER TRIBUTE
John Mayer has been known for his humble ability to honour his own musical influences, rather than himself - commonly seen playing his Jimi Hendrix "Monterey" Stratocaster on stage. His "Black One" Stratocaster is modelled on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s "Number One" Stratocaster, an icon of musical history in its own right, also known as Stevie's "First Wife".
Mayer, influenced by SRV, had a custom made tribute to this classic guitar produced, crafted in black instead of sunburst and featuring a slightly less defined or ‘accurate’ SRV relic pattern. Gold tuners with pearl heads add the 'bling' while 'Big Dipper' pickups add the punch to this classic homage.
