"BIG RED" 335 TRIBUTE
Alvin Lee, the mastermind behind epic rock band “Ten Years After”, shaped the lives and musical tastes of a generation of fans. His iconic Gibson 335, known as “Big Red” has been at his side from the beginning, featuring Alvin’s own personal modification - the addition of a Fender Stratocaster single coil in an offset mid-position with its own ‘Fender Blender’ volume control that was exhibited so beautifully at Woodstock when Lee set the stage alight with his rendition of “I’m going home”. Later, the guitar’s neck was damaged and Gibson fitted a brand new ES-335 block inlaid neck that left the guitar with a red body and black neck, creating a look that has been sought after by guitarists for decades since.
