Based upon Pete Townshend's iconic modified Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster, which features Mid-Boost and TBX Tone Circuit as standard, "Goldie" sports the Who legend's instantly recognisable Fishman Powerbridge mod (with additional Piezo Volume control beneath the bridge) as well as a pair of Gibson USA Deluxe Mini Humbuckers, emulating the performance of his "Number 3" Les Paul Goldtop!
This is one of the most premium-spec Stratocasters we have ever produced and plays like nothing else - the response, lightness and reliability of a Strat, packed with the punch of a Les Paul and the versatility of on-board electronics with the subtle blend of Acoustic tones available on demand.

Built to combine the best of both value for money and performance, the Deluxe Edition is aimed at capturing the look, feel and versatility of Townshend's original guitar but offering a more cost-effective option for players and fans. The guitar makes use of Fender's superbly built Fender Mexican 50's Stratocaster to serve as the base for the production, which features a stunning Gold refinish, traditional Stratocaster wiring loom that is then accompanied by our custom made on-board overdrive pre-amp (as used in our ever-popular Andy Summers Telecaster) offering true-bypass via the additional control beneath the bridge. The vintage style tremolo is upgraded with stainless steel saddles and finally, a pair of awesome Gibson USA Deluxe Mini Humbuckers (just like the original) complete "Goldie's" iconic look and delivers unparalleled performance both on stage and in the studio.
