Inspired by the legendary guitar originally produced for Prince by HS Anderson, this affectionate tribute takes everything we love about the original and combines it with the reliability of Fender USA production elements and the depth and tone provided by Seymour Duncan pickups. The core of the build is a custom Double-Bound vintage-stained Ash Telecaster Body with Flamed Maple Top and Walnut ‘pinstripes’ combined with a Fender USA Maple Telecaster Neck - complimented by Seymour Duncan SSL-1 & SSL-5 single coil pickups. Custom made by our TPP Custom Shop, offering a superior playing experience, the TPP Custom Shop "Mad Cat" Telecaster Tribute features a custom Double-Bound vintage-stained Ash Telecaster Body with Flamed Maple Top and Walnut ‘pinstripes’ combined with a stunning, creamy Fender USA Maple Telecaster Neck featuring high-gloss fingerboard finish, Medium-jumbo frets and a smooth, super-fast Satin-finish C-Profile.
Designed to provide the player with classic Tele response and an instantly recognisable feel, the guitar’s iconic “Mad Cat” pickguards house a Seymour Duncan SSL-1 single coil in the neck position (to capture legendary 50’s tones) and a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 single coil in the bridge (to provide the player with hot, over-wound vintage attack on the high-end). Sporting a classic Strat-style Fender Hardtail bridge with vintage saddles, thru-stringing, cloth-wired 3-way wiring loom and a push/pull ‘Phase’ switch accessible via the tone pot – we’ve aimed to produce a guitar that caters to the needs of the modern musician while keeping faithful to the influences of one of the greatest musicians in musical history.
