"Stone Roses" legend John Squire's iconic Hofner T2S is an indelible part of British pop culture, painted and repainted by Squire himself several times in the style of 'Jackson Pollock', the artwork that inspired the cover art for "I Wanna Be Adored" remains the most recognised. But, what makes this guitar truly special is the uniqueness of the T2S itself - an early 80's studio-beast designed by the legendary German manufacturer to compete with giants like Gibson by offering the player an incredible variety of built-in features including Wrap-around Tailpiece, dual 3-way micro switches for each pickup (to access 'Series', 'Parallel' and 'Coil-tapped' modes) and an onboard active Tone Expander circuit!

Taking a Hofner Contemporary Verythin as the base for this build, the Deluxe Edition is aimed at delivering striking visual dynamics and grass-roots playability, so the original Hofner pickups are combined with the unmodified control layout (master volume & tone control plus a 3-way pickup selector) requiring no rear cavity control plate and the classic Bridge & Stop-Tailpiece layout is both familiar and infinitely stable, while the neck is modified featuring 'pearl' headstock and fingerboard overlays (emulating the correct look and feel of Squire's T2S). Fully hand-finished in tribute to the original guitar, this is ideal if you're looking to enjoy all the looks without going deeper into the stage and studio presence of Squire's iconic workhorse. SUPREME EDITION
Hofner Contemporary Verythin 'Custom' - £1,599.00
Unique among our range of beautiful guitars, the TPP John Squire "Stone Roses" Hofner T2S Tribute actually makes use of the same base model for all three Editions, incrementally upgrading the onboard specifications as you go up to achieve as close a tribute to the original as possible. While the incredible hand0finished artwork remains the same, the Supreme Edition redesigns the Contemporary Verythin in the same vein as the original T2S but with some minor differences that make her more aesthetically accurate to the original and more versatile than the Deluxe but not as 'steeped' in the original details as the Ultimate.
Fitted with a traditional Wrap-around Tailpiece inspired by the T2S specs - she enjoys the power and presence of matched Seymour Duncan Humbuckers that themselves take advantage of the newly designed T2S style control layout by giving the player access to a pair of 2-way micro-selector switches for straight 'Coil-tap mode' on each individual pickup. The Supreme Edition's wiring loom incorporates the more traditional layout of master volume control, 3-way pickup selector plus two individual tone controls (one for each pickup) and includes the production of both a new rear-access control cavity and bespoke-made cover plate, based on archive images of the original guitar, to create a far more accurate tribute to the Hofner T2S. Fitted with a GOTOH Wrap-around Tailpiece, Seymour Duncan Humbuckers and Schaller M6 Tuners - the dynamic control layout of the Ultimate Edition, which has been meticulously based on John Squire's original Hofner T2S, is what sets her apart. Including master volume & tone controls with traditional 3-way pickup selector switch as standard - the guitar is enhanced by dual 3-way micro-switching for each individual pickup - providing access to 'Series', 'Parallel' and 'Coil-Tapped' modes!
When coupled with the T2S-inspired onboard active 'Tone Expander Circuit' control, you can literally shape the tone through a responsive 0-10 functionality that fattens the low end, smooths out the mid-range and heightens the top of any particular pickup mode and tone setting you're working with via the master tone control (well over 20+ settings when you factor in every possible switching mode). This is a born studio-recorder and a superb on-stage companion and the 'Expander' features a true-bypass push/pull pot and 9V battery supply, accessible via the guitar's new rear cavity (control plate custom crafted and designed based on archive images of the original guitar), creating the most comprehensive tribute to both the Hofner T2S and John Squire's faithful workhorse ever made.
