One of the most influential Blues Rock guitarists of his generation, Lonnie McIntosh (AKA Lonnie Mack) has inspired the likes of Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan with his unique flavour of guitar playing, most notably with his masterpiece, "Wham!" from where the term 'whammy bar' was coined (for Mack's use of his after-market Bigsby B7 Vibrato).
Mack's weapon of choice, "Number 7", was purchased off of the Gibson production line in 1958 and was the seventh 58’ profile Flying V ever made… a real gem. The guitar was heavily modified some years later to incorporate the Bigsby B7 Vibrato system, which was literally anchored to the bottom of the V by a custom crafted steel support beam!!!
